Setting Intentions With The New Moon

Setting Intentions With The New Moon

A new moon symbolizes new beginnings and new intentions! New Moon Energy can be very powerful. Tapping into this energy can also support your dreams and desires. We can harness the energy of the new moon to fulfill our visions and make our desires come true by setting new intentions.
This is the perfect time to start fresh! You can also use the energy of a new moon to achieve new goals or to start a new project. Anytime during a new moon, take this time to reflect back on any goals you may have had in the past and set new ones for yourself.
Do not ask for too much, keep your list simple and realistic with maybe no more than 10 goals.
THE MOON PHASES
Each phase has its own energy and it’s different for everyone.
Below is a list of Moon phases, and the energy they create.
  • New Moon: New beginnings & fresh starts.
  • Waxing Moon: Building, accomplishments, creativity, growth and learning, positive transformation
  • Full Moon: Abundance, harvest, wish-fulfillment, manifesting desires, sexuality, achieving all dreams, protection
  • Waning Moon: Cleansing, releasing, shedding old patterns,
  • Dark Moon: Rest, Peace, deep wisdom, divination,
 INTENTIONS WITH THE NEW MOON:
Create a sacred place. This can be an altar, desk, or corner in your home. Create a little area that is beautiful and reserved for your spiritual practices. This can be as elaborate or as simple as you want it to be. Make a space that makes you feel inspired & grounded.
Clear the space.
You can use sage a feather or a flame to clear the space you are working in.
Make a list.I suggest writing them down and then speaking them loudly, by physically speaking them you symbolize your intention to manifest any your goals you have. Be clear with your intentions. Your intentions must not be focused on other people, you cannot change others.
New Moon Meditation. When your list is complete spend 10-15 minutes meditating on it.
Close out the ritual.Once your meditation is over, put your new moon intention list away until next month where you can go over it to see what has manifested. When an item on your lists becomes real thank the universe.

13 Ways To Get More Water

13 Ways To Get More Water

I think everyone has heard of  the eight glasses  of water a day. Your water intake can really depends  your overall health, like how active you are. I thought I would make a list of ways to drink enough water.
1. Add flavor to your pitcher.
2. Drink a glass after every bathroom break.
3. Sip before every meal.
4. Use an app to track your cups.
5. High-tech water bottle.
6. Dilute sugary drinks with water and ice.
7. Keep a gallon jug nearby.
8. Invest in a filter.
9. Choose sparkling or mineral water over soda.
10. Eat water-rich foods.
11. Stick to a one-to-one rule when drinking alcohol.
12. Use a marked water bottle.
13. Cut back on the caffeine.
I track my intake with my fitbit app and make sure I have my water bottle with me through out the day at work or home. I also have a filter and sometimes will add flavor by fruits, veggies and herbs to the water. Chia seeds are also great to add to water since they give you energy but not like coffee which will keep you up at night.
I hope you found this helpful! I would love to hear if there are any other ways you get your 8 cups of water a day.

My More Consistent Skincare Routine

My More Consistent Skincare Routine

Since my My Nightly Routine or Lack of One post, my skin care routine it has changed. I am a lot more consistent with it. Some items I still use and some are new that I have found and enjoy.  It may seem like a lot to some but so far this has been helping my skin behave.
Also everything that I use is affordable, all under $15 depending where you choose to purchase and where you live.  I have linked every product that I listed to their website.  I bought these products from a variety places, such as Target, Walmart,  the products website or local health food stores near me.

Daytime

First lets start with the mornings and what steps I take to get ready for the day.

Toner

For toner I still use Dr Thayer’s Lavender and aloe vera with witch hazel toner ($10.95). I love how it smells and makes my face feels clean.

Spot Treatment

I use the Alba Botanica Acnedote Invisable Treatment Gel ($8.99). I just dab it on any zits that pop up and done.

Vitamin B3 Serum

I use the  The Ordaniry Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum by ($5.90).  Which helps with blemishes and can help brighten the skin tone.

Moisturizer

I also still use Earth Science Almond-Aloe Face Moisturizer ($10.99). Lightly scented and makes the skin feel so soft.
Then after that has soaked into my skin I apply my makeup depending on the day.

Night Time

At night I use a little more products and some of them are that same as the morning.

Makup Remover

For removing my makeup I will use Alba Botanica good & clean™
dual textured exfoliating towelettes ($4.72) or Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Micellar Cleansing Water ($8.99). Both of these work really well taking off any makeup I have on my face. I alternate each one for no reason I just rally like both. The towelettes are nice to have since they have a smooth side and a exfoliating side. The charcoal micellar water is pretty neat, it comes clear with charcoal on the bottom and when you are about to use it you shake it to mix the charcoal.

Face Wash

To wash my face I use Alba Botanica Acnedote Deep Pore Wash ($6.19). This face wash has really helped my troubled areas of acne, as long as im consistent with it my face behaves. I still will get the occasional small zit, which is normal and easy to deal with, but not so much of the huge painful cyst acne I frequently get. Those are just so painful, horrible looking and hard to deal.

Toner

Exfoliating Facial-2 times a week

I use The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ($7.20). AHA (Alpha hydroxy acids)  exfoliate the top layer of  skin for a brighter and even skin.  BHA (Beta hydroxy acids) exfoliates deeper in  the skin to  help clear pore congestion. Tasmanian Pepperberry which makes this peel reddish in color,  helps reduce the irritation associated with acids. The Vitamin B5 helps with healing and black carrot as an antioxidant. Since you only use 2-3 drops a few times a week this  bottle will last you  forever.

Spot Treatment

I use again if needed the Alba Botanica Acnedote Invisable Treatment Gel ($8.99).

Vitiman C Serum

I use the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% by The Ordinary ($12.90). Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant,  helps brightens the skin tone and reduces signs of ageing. Two drops is more than enough for you face and neck, this bottle has lasted me for months.

Antioxidant Serum -3 times a week

I use The Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% ($6.80). Alpha Lipoic Acid is a potent antioxidant and can restore skin appearance, improve skin texture and tone.  It is also very sensitive to sunlight so it is recommended to be used at night.  Again since you only use 2-3 drops a few times a week a bottle will last for ever.

Moisturizer

I then finish up with  Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream  ($15.00) at night.  It is on the pricey side for me, but a little bit goes a long way. I bought this on whim, since i was looking for a night.
Through out the week I do use other mud masks and peels that I have depending on what my skin is doing at that moment. I also have been using a spin brush that I picked up and I have notice a great improvement since pairing it with the Deep Pore Wash. But I think that will be another post in time.
Well I hope you enjoyed reading!

Blog Post Ideas – Organising

Blog Post Ideas – Organising

I know spring began in March.  It is now May, and as I write this at 8:45 in the morning with 65 degree weather with a possible high of 83 and all of my windows open. Here in south-eastern Wisconsin it’s finally feels and looks like spring. With that I finally feel like spring cleaning and organising my home and life. Just kidding about my life, its pretty organized. But I do have projects that I would like to start, like going through my clothes, cleaning up the closets that I dumped random items in when we moved in December or organise our storage bin in our apartment again because of all the random items I dumped in there.  I can only blame my self for that, but in my defense moving is very tiring.
As I was thinking of projects that need to get done,  I realised this would be a great blog post to do. So I made a list of different ways you organize.

Types of Vegetarians

Types of Vegetarians

For the last few months I have been making more of attempt to eat cleaner by not eating meat, and making healthier choices in general. So I as searched the internet for ways to do this, I came across types of vegetarians which I thought was interesting.
I knew there was different types but never really looked into it until recently. I also found out by reading more about vegetarianism I was kinda one already. Which I have now kicked it up a notch and don’t eat any meat, I do eat eggs and dairy but I don’t drink cows milk, I’m just not a milk drinker. For milk I drink almond, soy or cashew. I also try my best to buy organic especially when it comes to eggs and dairy. That’s for a whole another blog post.

Semi vegetarian/Flexitarian

“Flexitarian” is a term to describe those who eat a mostly vegetarian diet but occasionally eat meat.

Pescatarian

Pescatarian is forthose who do not eat any meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish. More people are adopting this kind of diet, usually for health reasons or to transition to a vegetarian diet.

Lacto-ovo-vegetarians

People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products. Lacto means milk, and ovo” for egg. Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a type of vegetarian who does not eat eggs but does eat dairy products. Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs. Lacto-ovo vegetarian, a vegetarian who eats both eggs and dairy products. This is the most common type.
 Pollotarian
This vegetarian is controversial, since a pollotarian avoids all other meat but does intake poultry and fowl. They receive criticism for even being categorized as a vegetarian at all.

Vegan

Vegans do not eat meat of any kind and also do not eat eggs, dairy products, or processed foods containing these or other animal products such as gelatin. Many vegans also refrain from eating foods like sugar and some wines. There is some debate as for honey, fits into a vegan diet.

Raw vegan

A raw vegan diet consists of unprocessed vegan foods that have not been heated above 115 F (46 C). “Raw foodists” believe that foods cooked above this temperature have lost a significant amount of their nutritional value and are harmful to the body.

Macrobiotic

The macrobiotic diet includes unprocessed vegan foods, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and allows the occasional consumption of fish. Sugar and refined oils are avoided.
I hope you found this helpful or interesting about the different types of vegetarians. As I said before I never really knew what all the different type of vegetarianism where all about.
