Types of Vegetarians

Types of Vegetarians

For the last few months I have been making more of attempt to eat cleaner by not eating meat, and making healthier choices in general. So I as searched the internet for ways to do this, I came across types of vegetarians which I thought was interesting.
I knew there was different types but never really looked into it until recently. I also found out by reading more about vegetarianism I was kinda one already. Which I have now kicked it up a notch and don’t eat any meat, I do eat eggs and dairy but I don’t drink cows milk, I’m just not a milk drinker. For milk I drink almond, soy or cashew. I also try my best to buy organic especially when it comes to eggs and dairy. That’s for a whole another blog post.

Semi vegetarian/Flexitarian

“Flexitarian” is a term to describe those who eat a mostly vegetarian diet but occasionally eat meat.

Pescatarian

Pescatarian is forthose who do not eat any meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish. More people are adopting this kind of diet, usually for health reasons or to transition to a vegetarian diet.

Lacto-ovo-vegetarians

People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products. Lacto means milk, and ovo” for egg. Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a type of vegetarian who does not eat eggs but does eat dairy products. Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs. Lacto-ovo vegetarian, a vegetarian who eats both eggs and dairy products. This is the most common type.
 Pollotarian
This vegetarian is controversial, since a pollotarian avoids all other meat but does intake poultry and fowl. They receive criticism for even being categorized as a vegetarian at all.

Vegan

Vegans do not eat meat of any kind and also do not eat eggs, dairy products, or processed foods containing these or other animal products such as gelatin. Many vegans also refrain from eating foods like sugar and some wines. There is some debate as for honey, fits into a vegan diet.

Raw vegan

A raw vegan diet consists of unprocessed vegan foods that have not been heated above 115 F (46 C). “Raw foodists” believe that foods cooked above this temperature have lost a significant amount of their nutritional value and are harmful to the body.

Macrobiotic

The macrobiotic diet includes unprocessed vegan foods, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and allows the occasional consumption of fish. Sugar and refined oils are avoided.
I hope you found this helpful or interesting about the different types of vegetarians. As I said before I never really knew what all the different type of vegetarianism where all about.

Favorite Makeup Under $15

Favorite Makeup Under $15

I thought I would share my favorite makeup items that are all under $15. All of the items I list are drug store. I don’t buy high-end or expensive makeup because well, I have bills, want to eat and need a place to live. I just can’t see spending more than $20 on a makeup item.  So I try to find dupes of the high-end items and call it a day. I have nothing against people who do spend the extra money. But here are items that I have found that work for me, under $15.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid -$10.00 I love how this goes on my skin. When I’m wearing  this foundation it’s almost like I’m not wearing any. It applies beautiful.
NYX Professional Makeup Matte Liquid Liner– $7.00 This eyeliner does not budge at all.  Its amazing. It does not have a felt tip, which im very use to using, but a brush instead. It takes a little getting use to.
ESSENCE Colour Correcting Stick $2.99 Super creamy and easy to blend. I have the green to cancel any redness that I may have. But lately I have been having some really bad break outs and not much is hiding them completely. I still see some redness showing through but not nearly as bad when I don’t use any color correcting.
ESSENCE Coverstick-$2.99 Does the job nicely and covers any imperfections  and is also very creamy and blendable. Same as the color correcting, I’m dealing with some really bad break outs but it does help. When my break outs aren’t extremely  angry you can’t tell I have them.  I’m on the look out for a another concealer for my really bad break outs.
Elf Cosmetics  Instant Lift Brow Pencil – $2.00 I have repurchased this brow pencil for the third time  now and I always go back to it. I love that it has a spoolie. Makes my brows very natural looking.
Face Candy Milk Shake Palette – $12.00 I just love the eyeshadows shades from this palette. The creams, nudes,  browns, corals, and  purples are a great combo for spring. There is some fall out but they blend very well. This palette looks like a dupe for the Too Faced Just Peachy Palette.
Elf Cosmetics Mineral Pearls– $8.00 This produt is a bronzer highlighter and blush all in one. Go light when applying. A little goes a long way.
NYX Professional Studio Finishing Powder Translucent Finish-$9.99 Works well and keeps my makeup in place all day. Also doesnt dry out my t zone like other powders have in the past.
Elf Cosmetics Natural Lash Kit-$2.00 These are very natural looking. It took my husband 4 days of wearing them  to ask me if I was wearing fake lashes. 4 days. Why, yes dear I am.
Kiss Ever EZ Lash Adhesive, Clear-$3.99 Very easy to apply on the lashes and stays on all day for me. I havent notice smell when opening a bottle.
So I don’t have a mascara listed  since all of my mascaras are travel sizes  from my Ipsy Bag and I don’t see the need to buy a full size mascara when I’m sent travel sizes. But one of my favorites that I received in a ipsy bag a while back is the Tarte Lifted Sweatproof Mascara in black brown. I will use it to set my brows after I fill them in.
Thanks for reading! What are some of your favorites

10 Essential Crystals

10 Essential Crystals

Who doesn’t love a pretty rock? The ones I list are some of  my favorites and what I feel everyone should have, if they collect and work with crystals. They are all commonly used crystals and each crystal that I list has unique properties and energies to heal different aspects of your life.  Granted there are so many more out in the world and I can’t list every single one out there. I’m sure there will be more blog posts on crystals in the future.

Amethyst

Deeply cleansing, Amethyst purifies negative energies. You can also use Amethyst for protection and developing your natural psychic abilities. Amethyst cames in many shades of purple, from dark to light. Amethyst has healing powers and is  Chakra balancing.

Clear Quartz

An essential crystal and the most versatile crystal and can have many purposes. Clear Quartz can also enhance the energy of other crystals.  Since Clear Quartz absorbs energies very easily, clearing these stones on a regular basis should be important. Clear Quartz also protects against negativity.  Clear Quartz is most often used to cleanse, open, activate, and  can be used to align all of the chakras.

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is known for helping with love,  self-esteem, restores confidence, helps with emotional balance, releases stress/tension/anger, and helps curb jealousy. Even though Rose Quartz does have a high energy, the vibration is also calming and soothing. Rose Quartz is used for the  Heart Chakra.

Golden Tigers Eye

Great for protection,  building confidence and self belief. Tigers Eye also  connects us with the Earth, making it a good choice for grounding stone. Ancients used Tiger Eye as a talisman against bad luck and curses. Tigers eye is also a great healing stone.  Golden Tiger Eye is a powerful Solar Plexus Chakra stone, very helpful to manifest ideas into reality and giving courage when needed.

Selenite

Selenite is an excellent choice for working with the third eye and crown chakras.  Selenite can also help you through meditation Selenite has a  powerful vibration  and can clear, open, and activate the Crown and Higher Chakras and is excellent choice  for all spiritual work.

Citrine

Citrine attracts abundance,  creativity and is  great cleanser and regenerator. This stone does not need to be  cleansed. Citrine also opens the mind to new ideas and following through.  Often associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra, Citrine can also be used to cleanse all Chakras.

Carnelian

Carnelian is excellent for restoring vitality and motivation. It is also a high energy crystal and  creates a boost of power, creativity, energy, vitality and sexuality. Carnelian is useful in making decisions by keeping us focused. Carnelian is a powerful Sacral Chakra Stone

Hematite

Hematite is metallic crystal that protects  you from psychic attacks and negative energies. Hematite also strengthens your aura while defecting these harmful energies that you may come across. Hematite is also good for working with the Root Chakra, helping to convert negative energies into positive vibrations.

Black Obsidian

Black Obsidian Stone is a powerful cleanser and is a strong protection stone. Black Obsidian has powerful properties that will help to shield you against negativity and energy blockages, and has a tendency to work quickly.  Black Obsidian is Root Chakra stone.

Labradorite

Labradorite is a stone of magic, awakening mystical and magical abilities and psychic powers. It strengthens  intuition, balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies. Highly mystical, Labradorite is great for working with the Third Eye Chakra
Crystals can be worn as jewelry, carried in your pocket,  in your purse,  next to your bed or in a place where you spend a lot of time at. They are great to use during meditation, and some can help to amplify your prayers. I personally keep clear quartz in each room since this crystal clears nagitvity and I also keep a tiny bag with all seven chakra coordinated crystals in my purse and also in our bedroom. I also use crystals to cleanse my tarot cards, new and used.
Let me know if you have a favorite crystal and what do you use it for?

2018 Reading list

2018 Reading list

Here is my list of books that I plan on reading for 2018. Most of the books that I list I bought last year during the summer  but I never got around to reading. So this year I am making it a goal to read all of them. I bought all of them but two, I have kindle unlimited for them. Which I love having Kindle unlimited, it is so nice to have.
Right now I am reading a series called the Gender Games. I am on book 3 out of 7,  The Gender Lie. It reminds me of the hunger games and divergent, which I both love.  I flew throught the first two book of the Gender Games during my time off during christmas.

Everything about the patriarchy is dangerous for a rebellious girl like Violet. She cannot break the rules if she wishes to stay alive. Rise Sister Rise: A Guide to Unleashing the Wise, Wild Woman Within by
Rebecca Campbell

Most women have spent much of their working lives ‘making it’ in a man’s world, leaning on patriarchal methods of survival in order to succeed, dulling down their intuition and ignoring the fierce power of their feminine. They have ignored the cycles of the feminine in order to survive in a patriarchal linear system – but now the world has changed.
Rise Sister Rise is a transmission that calls the innate feminine wisdom to rise. It is about healing the insecurities, the fears and the inherited patterns that stop women trusting the Shakti (power) and wisdom (intuition) that effortlessly flows through them. It’s about recognizing all of the ways we have been keeping ourselves contained and restrained in effort to fit into a certain archetype of woman. It’s about co-creating a whole new archetype of woman – a woman who deeply respects the wise women in her life and cultivates her own wisdom every single day.
Full of tools, calls to action, contemplative questions, rituals and confrontational exercises, this book teaches women that it is safe to let Shakti rise, safe to trust their intuition and safe to take leaps of faith – because in healing ourselves we are healing the world.

Light is the New Black is a guidebook for a new breed of women who are here to be bright lights in the world.

Her 11-year relationship ended, two dear friends died suddenly, and overnight, her fantastic career as an award-winning creative director no longer fit her soul. It was as if the universe turned off all the lights, so she had no choice but to rediscover her own.
In this book, Rebecca guides you to do the same. In order to thrive in this new age, everything must be an authentic expression of who we truly are. Rebecca shares her own journey to the light, alongside practical tools that will help you to answer your soul’s callings, and channelled messages from the universe. Amoruso spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and scrounging in dumpsters for leftover bagels. By age twenty-two she had dropped out of school, and was broke, directionless, and checking IDs in the lobby of an art school—a job she’d taken for the health insurance. It was in that lobby that Sophia decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay.
Flash forward to today, and she’s the founder of Nasty Gal and the founder and CEO of Girlboss. Sophia was never a typical CEO, or a typical anything, and she’s written #GIRLBOSS for other girls like her: outsiders (and insiders) seeking a unique path to success, even when that path is windy as all hell and lined with naysayers.
#GIRLBOSS proves that being successful isn’t about where you went to college or how popular you were in high school. It’s about trusting your instincts and following your gut; knowing which rules to follow and which to break; when to button up and when to let your freak flag fly.

How I Read Tarot

How I Read Tarot

The way I read tarot is really easy and not everyone does it the same way. Some might be more elaborate with cloth, tarot box, crystals, alter, incense and candles. There are times when I do burn candles or incense but not every time. You can read tarot any way it feels comfortable to you and you can make it as simple or complicated as you want.
In a previous blog post I said I have been reading tarot since I was 16. In that time my ways have changed, many times. For a while I didn’t read any cards, I am not sure why, I just didn’t.  But over the last few years, I have have been reading more now and into a routine you could say. My collection has also grown since the last time I wrote about this subject.

Crystals

I have a small collection of crystals compared to some. I don’t use crystals as much as I would like but I do use them to cleanse and protect my tarot cards from negative energies. I really would like to incorporate crystals in to my readings more and hopefully this year I will. I’m still figuring out how to, but most of the time I forget.
Whenever I get a new deck I always place my selenite crystal on top to cleanse the deck before I use it. Then after it has been cleansed I will then go through the cards and study, to get a feel for them. This also helps the cards and I connect. After I am done doing a reading, I put them back where I keep a clear quartz crystal on the shelf with all of my cards.

Readings

Daily- I pull a card daily for tarot, oracle and added a affirmation card on some days.
Weekly- I like to pull a card for the theme of the week by using oracle and tarot.
Monthly – Again tarot and oracle theme for the month.
New Moon & Full Moon  – This is somthing new that I have started doing. I will do a spread for the New Moon for setting intentions. It is the best time to manifest and new beginnings. Full moon is the results of your intentions.
Past present and future – Occasionally I like to do a past present and future reading. There are so many ways you can do this reading, love money and home or mind, body and spirit.
I then record all of my readings in my wellness planner. I like having a place to store all of my readings in one place. It is also easy to reference back to if I need to. Pinterest is a great way to find other spreads, there are so many it’s ridiculous. And there are times where a week is really busy and don’t get to doing a reading for that week or day or whatever it may be, and that’s okay.
So that is how I read tarot at the moment. I would love to hear your thoughts.

7 Ways To Cleanse And Energize Your Crystals

7 Ways To Cleanse And Energize Your Crystals

Why it’s important to clear your crystals?

When you first receive your crystal, it has been passed around and holds the energy of where ever and who ever  it came from. Unless you took it from the earth yourself. If the previous owner of the crystal has any negative energies or vibrations, it  will be stored in there, and passed to you.

Frequency of cleansing.

If you’ve already cleansed them when you acquired them and have used them for a long time, it’s a good idea to regularly give them a good cleaning. Who doesn’t like a good cleaning? This is important if you do a lot of healing or energy work, or if you are you’re using them all of the time. Especially  if you’re using negativity-deflecting stones like Hematite, who is constantly working to turn  negative energies into positive. If it’s jewelry you wear regularly, make sure to clean them once a week.
If you use them for healing work, clear them after each session or treatment.
If you’re using them for deep soul work, cleanse them often.  Sometimes you can tell by the way the crystal’s appearance has changed, the feel in your hand, or how the vibrations feels.

Clearing your stone.

Cleansing and clearing your crystals is very important. There can be several people handling the crystal until it has reached you, good or bad energies. Here are a few ways to do this:

1. Sea salt and water

Sea salt and water is a great way to rid your stone of unwanted  energies. If the stone is not brittle, using sea salt will not harm the stone. When using this method  leave the stone in the water overnight. You can add other herbs like sage or lavender to the water to enhance the cleansing effect. Caution:Crystals that contain iron, such as Hematite, Magnetite, and Lodestone may oxidize when submerged in water.

2. Running water

Using running water is also a very effective way of cleansing your stone. Put  the intention out  by asking the Universe to remove all negativity. One way to try is to imagine white light around the stone cleaning and filling it. Caution: Some crystals should NEVER be submerged in water. Some crystal can  be damaged, or dissolve.  The following Crystals should not be placed in water are: Selenite, Malachite, Lapis Lazuli, Fluorite, Calcite, Desert Rose, Labradorite, or Halite.

3. Other Stones

Stones like Selenite,  Carnelian and Clear Quartz clean other stones. It’s really simple. All you have to do is add them to where you store your stones and it does all the work for you.

4. Smudging

You can also use sage to clear your healing stones. While smudging your stones, it’s important to put intention in to them. Smudging by taking a sacred herb, white sage , sweetgrass or  incense.  Lighting it and  letting it smoke, and then holding the crystal in the smoke for a few seconds.

5. The Earth

Mother Earth will  recharge the crystals  with her vibrational energy. Make sure you have a marker in the ground so you know where to find them after cleansing for 24 hours! You can also place them in earth in a container to more easily find them. Caution: Make sure your crystals are on the  hardness rating of at least 6 or higher.  Any  moisture in the earth may  damage your crystals. Also dirt may get trapped in any cracks.

6. Moonlight

Many stones love the moonbeams! To get the most of the moonbeams  lay them out during the Full Moon.  A strong Full Moon will last for 3 days. Your crystals will still get the love it even if it’s cloudy. Caution: Make sure that any crystals  that are low in hardness  are brought back inside before any rain.

7. Sunlight

Sunlight is another  great way to bathe your crystals, especially any that are red, yellow, or orange. Carnelian and Sunstone love to sunbathe! Set them out in the sun for a few hours, to help them recharge. Caution : Sunlight can make some crystals fade or change color. These crystals should not be placed under sunlight: Amethyst, Celestite, Citrine, Fluorite, Kunzite, Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Topaz, and Turquoise are just a few.
Personally I love using Selenite to cleanse and energize my crystals. All I have to do is place it by what ever crystal I went cleansed and go about my day. I find this is the easiest for me. My other favorites are Moonlight and Sunlight. You do have to be more careful and make sure that the crystal and withstand both cleansing elements.

Goals to work towards in 2018

Goals to work towards in 2018

Normally I don’t really do New Years Resolutions. Honestly I dont think I ever have. But I thought it would be a nice change to make some goals to work towards for the new year. So here is a list of things I would like to change or work towards in 2018.
  1. No soda. I’m not a huge soda drinker. The only time I really have soda is when we go out to eat or sometimes when I’m at work. We normally don’t buy soda for the house just to have unless its for mix drinks and I do like my rum and cokes at times. So for the occasional drink I think its fine. Like when I’m out of wine, and had a long day or week at work.
  2. No red meat. I would like to go completely no meat but we will see. Baby steps.
  3. Workout. Accordingly my Fitbit I already surpass the daily 10,000 steps. I do like 13,000-14,000 steps in a day. So Minimum of 3 days. Yoga. Squats. Something else.
  4. No unneeded spending. Enough said.
  5. Read 18 books for 2018.
  6. Downsize my closet. I still have to many clothes, shoes, jackets, etc. Help.
  7. GROW MY HAIR OUT. NO MORE PIXIE. I’m already half way where I want to be.
  8. Paint, create, art more.
  9. More sales in my Etsy shop. I sold 2 items this year.
  10. Blog more often.
  11. Finish my classes on Udemy. I have 6 classes that I paid for (paid no more the $12 for a class). Not taking any more till they are all done. 5 of 6 done so far.
  12. Finish Lost. Ive been watching it on and off for about 2 years now. Oops.
  13. Practice Mindfulness more.
  14. Banish the psoriasis from both shins. 3-5 years overstayed welcome. It has been lighten up slowly more and more but BE GONE!
  15. Shrink the products that are taking over the hallway closet. Face, hair, body products. I have too many.
  16. Drink more water. I fill up my 16oz bottle 1-2 times a day. So I’m half way there.
  17. Read tarot daily.
  18. Not to be so critical. On myself and others. I’m a Virgo. I’m sorry. I just cant stop sometimes.
So far that is my list. Nothing that I cant do. Just need self discipline to accomplish them. What are some of your goals you would like to work towards.
