My Easy Skincare Routine

My skin care routine has changed since the last time I wrote about it. So I suffer from hormonal acne and it sucks. I have two weeks every month with no active zits, then the other two weeks I have angry red  painful cystic zits along my cheeks, chin and jaw. Seems every time I  schedule an appointment with my dermatologist it gets canceled or rescheduled. Because of that  I have recently started using a custom cream made just for me by curology for my acne. I really try to keep it basic and not over complicate it. Less is more. For awhile I kept it very basic and only washed, tone and moisturize. I then slowly added a few products in and feel I'm at a good spot and not over doing it.

On top of my morning and night routine I also use three other products that are great for all over health.  Amazing Grass Effervescent Tablets: Green Superfood to get your daily veggies and 8oz of water. I also use their  GLOW Vegan Collagen Support with Biotin and Plant Based Protein Powder. I really like the chocolate rose for the glow protein powder, I like to add it to almond or soy milk.  The third is water. Make sure to drink lots of water, your skin will love it and so will the rest of your body.

Morning

Water- Quickly cleanse.

Kopari Beauty Coconut Rose Toner - Feels refreshing and hydrating.

Cevra AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 - Ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II - help restore protective skin barrier. Niacinamide - helps calm skin.  Hyaluronic Acid - helps retain skin's moisture.

Night

Make-up Removing Cloths 4 Count, Erase Your Face- I use just water and remove the makeup with these cloths.
Pafica Sea Foam Wash- After using water and the makeup cloths I use a very gentle face wash, I also  use the makeup cloths to wipe away the face wash.

Kopari Beauty Coconut Rose Toner -use again at night.

Bio Oil -  Can be used for scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, aging skin, dehydrated skin, after sun treatment & bath oil.

Curology - Curology is an online service that customises prescription-strength skincare for you. Right now my custom formula has Azelaic Acid, Clindamycin and Niacinamide.

Bliss Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer - Collagen-protecting duo that works synergistically to further brighten and protect elasticity.

As needed

Pacifica Overnight Mask- Very moisturizing if I'm feeling dry or after a face mask.
Aztec Clay- Once a week. Deep cleans the skin.
The Ordinary Retinol- every other day. Helps speed up the cell turnover rate. Many benefits for your skin.
Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion - when ever a zit pops up.
Water -Throughout the day as needed

February Favorites 2020

It's been a while since I did one of these posts and I would like to start back doing them. I didn't t have to many to chooses from but here are a few things that I really have enjoyed in the past month or so.

Amika 3D duo volume and thickening shampoo + conditioner
It's a great weightless shampoo and conditioner that thoroughly cleanses. My hair feels & looks thicker and healthier when I use this duo. The smell is also delicious.

This is serious one of the best purchases that I have made far in 2020. It works great on hoodies and clothing that had little balls of fuzz on them.

The ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane
This is a retinoid treatment that helps reduce the signs of aging, wrinkles, fine lines, brightens dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It also helps to smooth out the skin’s texture. The best part is it does it without irritation. I started using it to help fade my acne scars. I use this a couple times a week.

The Ordinary ''Buffet'
I use the Buffet every night, this is a great around serum since it does so much. The Buffet is a water-based serum with anti-aging technologies, including peptides, probiotics, amino acids, and more. It also reduces fine lines and wrinkles, fades dark spots, hydrates, brightens, and promotes a firm, smooth texture.

I love the way it makes my skin feel after using it, plump, soft skin with a dewy glow! It’s a wonderful product if your looking for a moisturizer with vitamin c.
It gives a nice bronze glow that is enriched with coconut water + vitamin e. Its is really to apply and dries super fast. It smells amazing.

Nightly Skin Care Routine

It’s been a while since I wrote about my skin care routine. Which you can read  My More Consistent Skincare Routine. My routine is much simpler now and easier than it was in the past. I find that this is working much better now for me. I try to keep it to 5 products and stuck to products that work and are affordable, but there is always that one product thats more and loved. Most of the items that I use and buy are under $20. Expect for the $39 moisturizer that came in my boxy charm box one month.

Nightly Skin Care Routine

I use makeup wipes every night to wipe off any makeup. I really like any of the wipes from Yes To. I think the cucumber and grapefruit are my favorites. After I get all of the makeup off I use the Pacifica Beauty Sea Foam Complete Face Wash to wash my face with a Eco Tools Portable Facial Cleansing Brush, the brush sits so nicely in my hand and is perfect for traveling. For a toner I use the Thayers Rose Water Witch Hazel Toner and then after that dries I spray my face with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rosewater, I love how both of these smell and make my face feel. You can also use it to set your makeup, which i like doing. For the last step I have been using the It Cosmetics Confidence In A Jar, I got this in my boxy charm box and I love it, just not the price. I believe I received it in my March box and I have hardly made a dent, a little goes a very long way. I think after I’m done with this jar, I might purchase. Since you only need a very small amount to cover your face, even through it is a lot more than I normally spend on a moisturizer.
For breakouts I will ether add to my nightly routine as needed the Mario Badescu Buffing Lotion for cysts acne and the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion for normal whitehead acne. Lately I haven’t really had to reach for these since my skin has been behaving well, which I’m glad for. Also through out the week I do use other mud masks and peels that I have depending on what my skin is doing at that moment.
I have started taking Evening Primrose every night since April and I have noticed a difference in my skin since starting. I have even less breakouts and the scarring from past breakouts have also faded a bit. I have also increased my water intake throughout the day.

9 Holy Grail Skin Care Favorites Of 2018

I wanted to make a list of items that I really enjoyed and repurchased thought out 2018. I feel that I have a good skin care routine now and I have my cystic acne under control with the help of this supplement. All of these products work really well for me and my skin. Also none of them break the bank.

9 Holy Grail Skin Care Favorites Of 2018

Alba Acnedote Deep Pore Wash I really like using this to deep clean my face once a week when I use the exfoliating brush head on my facial brush. I bought the spin brush during black Friday sale.
Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes These do a great job of taking off any makeup that i might have on and they leave your face feeling clean. Honestly any of their wipes work well, but the cucumber wipes are my favorite scent.
Yes To Cucumber Micellar Water I like to use this for heavy eye makeup, eyeshadow, eyeliner or lash glue that I might have on. It does a good job of removing everything and cleaning my eyes. Again any of their Micellar water works, I just love the cucumber scent.
Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay I like to use this once a week to really get in the pores of my skin. As the clay dries it sucks all of the nasty junk out of your pores, think of it as a vacuum. Just make sure to moisturize after really well since it can be very drying.
MARIO BADESCU Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater I love this spray. I”ll admit i went through the first bottle a little too quickly because I keep spring myself with it. I like to use this after washing my face and right before applying my moisturizer. The smell is divine.
Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Mask This mask is my last step in my skin care routine. I have been using this since fall now and it does a great job with the couple of dry patches that I have on my face. It’s very hydrating and smells amazing.
Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash I use this wash daily. It has coconut water which is a natural toner, skin balancer and cleanser. The sea algae extract, helps with moisture content and brightness.
Pacifica Beauty Kale Lux Oil-Free Multi Cream I use this every night after washing my face and using the rosewater spray. Not a lot of people like the smell of it but honestly I like the smell. It is great for acne. After i run out i will most likely keep using it even though I seem to have my cystic acne under control by using this supplement
FORMULA 10.0.6 Keep Your Cool Mask I use this mask whenever I have a breakout. Which consists of maybe one or two very tiny zits that appear around the time of my period. This mask will help with redness and shrink the zits.

2017 Beauty Favorites That I cannot Live without

2017 Beauty Favorites That I cannot Live without

If any of these products were to be stopped. I would cry. That’s how much I LOVE them. I have not found any other products that give me the results that they do. I reach for them just about everyday. So I thought I would share with you my favorites that I cannot live without.

Face

I had a coupon and want to try something that a lot of people were talking about. It takes off all of my makeup and does a good job getting everything. Even on days I don’t wear makeup, I still use this on my face. I have about a third left in the bottle and will be buying more.
Holy cow! This worked so well on my acne and scarring it’s unreal. It really gets into the pore and cleans them out. I love how it makes my face after washing it. It smells great as well.
One of my favorite mask for calming down acne. It feels refreshing and cool when you apply. I’ve notice less redness and small zits the next morning when using.
Definitely a daily staple for me. I use this twice a day and it has helped with dryness from the winter, makes my makeup look great and not cakey because of the cold weather. Thanks winter. It also soaks in fast and leaves your skin so soft. Plus you can use it in your hair and body.
I wanted to give a facial brush a try and happen to see one at walmart while I was shopping. I paid only $6 for it and think it was well worth the money. I do plan on upgrading to one that has more brushes but not sure when that will be.

Hair

This puppy soaks up any oil and makes your hair feeling great. This is the best dry shampoo so far that I have tried. Also smells awesome!
Two things. 1 My favorite smell EVER. 2 Volume. Not much more I can say besides it’s natural and doesn’t has all that chemical crap in it. It does a amazing job on my fine hair. I will be needing a new bottle soon.

Body

If it wasn’t weird, I would let everyone feels how soft my legs feel after shaving with this. And it smells great!
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. What are some of your favorites?

Skin Care With Alba Botanica Acnedote

Skin Care With Alba Botanica Acnedote

One of my favorite face care lines is Alba Botanica Acnedote. Since using them now for the last 3 months, I have notice such an improvement with my skin. I deal with cystic acne, along the hollows of my cheecks and chin area and what I like to call pop up acne, normal acne that comes and go. I still deal with some cystic acne but not as badly and or as long like before.
Cystic acne is when cysts form deep underneath your skin. This can be a combination of bacteria, oil, and dry skin cells that then get trapped in your pores in your skin and turn    in to a red painful bump. There would be times when I would have a cyst and it would hang out on my face for weeks at a time. The pop up acne never really bothers me since they will disappear on their own after a few days and are hardly noticeable.
I now use most of their line for me face. I use the wipes, face wash, astringent, spot treatment and lotion. Every single night, expect for the spot treatment. I use that only when I need to.  I also will use the face and body scrub that they have to and I really like it but ran out and need to buy another bottle.
I also picked up a cheap spin face  brush from walmart last summer for like $5 and use that with a scrub and face wash. This really makes my face feels clean and smooth. I highly recommend picking up a face spin brush and trying it out.
Every night I start with the Clean ‘N Treat Wipes to start removing any makeup that I have on my face. After that I then use the Deep Pore Wash to really clean my face and get anything the wipes might of missed. After that I use the Deep Clean Astringent.  Once that dries I use the Invisable Spot Treatment if needed and finish with the Oil Control Lotion.  I still use  The Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% & The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 2-3 times a week at night along with my other face masks from Formula 10.0.6.
In the mornings I will use  Yes to Cucumbers Calming Micellar Cleansing Water ,  Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream  and the before I do my makeup for the day. I only use the Night cream in the morning because the Oil Control Lotion by Alba doesn’t always sit well with my makeup for some reason.
As I said above, I have found to work well for me and I enjoy the simpleness of it compared to my last skin care routine, which you can find here,  My More Consistent Skincare Routine which I still love all of the products I used.

My More Consistent Skincare Routine

My More Consistent Skincare Routine

Since my My Nightly Routine or Lack of One post, my skin care routine it has changed. I am a lot more consistent with it. Some items I still use and some are new that I have found and enjoy.  It may seem like a lot to some but so far this has been helping my skin behave.
Also everything that I use is affordable, all under $15 depending where you choose to purchase and where you live.  I have linked every product that I listed to their website.  I bought these products from a variety places, such as Target, Walmart,  the products website or local health food stores near me.

Daytime

First lets start with the mornings and what steps I take to get ready for the day.

Toner

For toner I still use Dr Thayer’s Lavender and aloe vera with witch hazel toner ($10.95). I love how it smells and makes my face feels clean.

Spot Treatment

I use the Alba Botanica Acnedote Invisable Treatment Gel ($8.99). I just dab it on any zits that pop up and done.

Vitamin B3 Serum

I use the  The Ordaniry Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum by ($5.90).  Which helps with blemishes and can help brighten the skin tone.

Moisturizer

I also still use Earth Science Almond-Aloe Face Moisturizer ($10.99). Lightly scented and makes the skin feel so soft.
Then after that has soaked into my skin I apply my makeup depending on the day.

Night Time

At night I use a little more products and some of them are that same as the morning.

Makup Remover

For removing my makeup I will use Alba Botanica good & clean™
dual textured exfoliating towelettes ($4.72) or Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Micellar Cleansing Water ($8.99). Both of these work really well taking off any makeup I have on my face. I alternate each one for no reason I just rally like both. The towelettes are nice to have since they have a smooth side and a exfoliating side. The charcoal micellar water is pretty neat, it comes clear with charcoal on the bottom and when you are about to use it you shake it to mix the charcoal.

Face Wash

To wash my face I use Alba Botanica Acnedote Deep Pore Wash ($6.19). This face wash has really helped my troubled areas of acne, as long as im consistent with it my face behaves. I still will get the occasional small zit, which is normal and easy to deal with, but not so much of the huge painful cyst acne I frequently get. Those are just so painful, horrible looking and hard to deal.

Toner

Exfoliating Facial-2 times a week

I use The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ($7.20). AHA (Alpha hydroxy acids)  exfoliate the top layer of  skin for a brighter and even skin.  BHA (Beta hydroxy acids) exfoliates deeper in  the skin to  help clear pore congestion. Tasmanian Pepperberry which makes this peel reddish in color,  helps reduce the irritation associated with acids. The Vitamin B5 helps with healing and black carrot as an antioxidant. Since you only use 2-3 drops a few times a week this  bottle will last you  forever.

Spot Treatment

I use again if needed the Alba Botanica Acnedote Invisable Treatment Gel ($8.99).

Vitiman C Serum

I use the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% by The Ordinary ($12.90). Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant,  helps brightens the skin tone and reduces signs of ageing. Two drops is more than enough for you face and neck, this bottle has lasted me for months.

Antioxidant Serum -3 times a week

I use The Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% ($6.80). Alpha Lipoic Acid is a potent antioxidant and can restore skin appearance, improve skin texture and tone.  It is also very sensitive to sunlight so it is recommended to be used at night.  Again since you only use 2-3 drops a few times a week a bottle will last for ever.

Moisturizer

I then finish up with  Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream  ($15.00) at night.  It is on the pricey side for me, but a little bit goes a long way. I bought this on whim, since i was looking for a night.
Through out the week I do use other mud masks and peels that I have depending on what my skin is doing at that moment. I also have been using a spin brush that I picked up and I have notice a great improvement since pairing it with the Deep Pore Wash. But I think that will be another post in time.
Well I hope you enjoyed reading!
