4 Tips on washing your hair less

I use to be someone that had to wash my hair almost everyday, especially when I had long hair down to the middle of my back. Now for the past 5 years I have had short pixie like hair, which at the moment, is now a jawline length bob. I only wash my hair 2 times a week max. Normally during the weekend and some time in the of the week. It was pretty easy for me to go longer in between washes since it was so short when I first started. If you have longer hair it might take a little longer to transition to fewer washes but is doable.

START EXTENDING WASHES
If your someone who washes your hair every day, try to make the switch to every other day. As you extend the time between washes, your hair will slowly produce less and less oil as you are no longer stripping your strands of the natural oils your scalp produces. Wash your hair less and you’ll notice that you will be able to extend even longer between washes.
Here are a few tips that can help with the transition for washing less.
TIP #1: DRY SHAMPOO
Dry shampoo is great for days in between washes. You can also spray your roots before going to bed. Adding some dry shampoo to your hair at night before bed will help absorb oil sweat and odor while you’re sleeping, which is when your scalp produces the most oil.
TIP #2 APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Mix ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water. Work it through your roots and rinse well with warm water. ACV helps to restore the scalp’s PH levels and removes buildup without stripping them from its natural oils.
TIP #3 DISTRIBUTING OIL
Gently brush through your hair with a real boar-bristle brush which will distribute the natural oils from your scalp through the length of your hair. Start at the roots and use fluid strokes to help the oil travel down the shaft of your hair. This is helpful before going to bed too. This will make your morning easier (less bedhead and knots), but it will also prevent the buildup of oil on the scalp overnight. The oil will wash away from the roots when you shower, it will prevent the buildup that can cause you to need to wash more frequently, and it will naturally conditioned
TIP #4 SHAMPOO
Stick to a gentle shampoo, that’s free of silicones, sulfate and paraben’s. Also don’t forget to brush before lathering up.

The first few weeks of training your hair may take some getting used to.

Bath and Body Works

The water collection is awesome. I love the body scrub , gel wash and lotion. It smells amazing, fresh, light and clean. While Bath and Body Works has the semi annual sale I stocked up on everything that they had for that collection, 75% off at the time. So worth the $4.13 for each item, normally when they are about $13.50-$18.50.

Arctic Fox Ritual

Ritual is such a gorgeous burgundy color and you can use it on unbleached brown hair. Its also one of their more “work safe colors” Which is a plus.

Book of earrings

This little book of earrings have been really helpful with keeping all of my post earrings organized. This little book holds up to 48 pairs. I love that now i can just flip through and see all my pairs of earrings.

H & M Jeans

I love going to H & M for basic tops and pants. Most of my jeans are from H & M, hey for $10 you cant go wrong. I have a light,  dark blueblack and white pair. They tend to hold up well and I even wear them to work. I think next I’m going to get some of the $10 jean shorts as well.

Daily burn

I started working out with the daily burn and so far i really like it. If you have a roku or a amazon fire you download the app and have it on your tv while working out. I really like that feature.

April Favorites

April Favorites

Medusa Jewelry– Finally I was able to switch out the post for my medusa. I went for the 8mm post and is the perfect length for me, not to tight or to big. Before I had a 10 or a 11mm post. I still have enough wiggle room for movement. I paid $9.99 for 4 posts.
Lotus earrings– I was browsing through amazon, what else is new and stumbled on to these earrings. You get 4 different colors, silver, gold, rose gold & black for $6.99. I love how they look and are my favorite for earrings right now.
Fitbit Versa lite – I updated my fitbit flex 2 and I am so happy that I did. I have really enjoyed the versa lite, especially the heart rate monitor for workouts and being able log your workouts, water on the watch. Plus I can check the time and see my step count on my wrist.
I used up the rest of my Pacifica bb cream and was cures to try something new but still on the lines of a natural BB Cream. I picked up  Burt’s Bees BB Cream with SPF 15 in light & Physicians Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30 in light. From what I can tell the Burts Bee is more neutral in color than Physicians Formula, more on the warmer side. Both work well for me since I am neutral with slightly warm undertones. Both apply really nice with a brush, I have yet to try with a sponge.
OGX Bodifying + Bamboo Fiber-Full Sugar High Tousle Spray I really like how much volume this spray gives my hair and does not fall flat. A light hand is needed, at lest for my fine hair, when applying. I normally apply on damp hair and blow dry. I might also add a little volume powder too just for extra poof.
In my April boxy Charm I received a Artist Couture – Diamond Glow Powder Its a loose Powder highlight and can be used on the eyes, lips, face and body. Its amazing! It gives you just enough shimmer.
Pink recently had one of their 8 for $28 sales for underwear and I bought myself some more. I normally wait for a big sale like that to buy underwear from Pink.
